Wappoo Landing – an Intracoastal Waterway Townhome Community in Charleston, South Carolina

As you are winding your way through the many, wonderful communities in The Greater Charleston, South Carolina area, you might enjoy taking a
drive by Wappoo Landing, a small community of 23 townhomes on James Island, nestled right on a tidal creek, a marsh and The Intracoastal
Waterway…and just 5 minutes from the heart of historic downtown Charleston!
The white, pristine, elevated architecture gives one the feeling of being in an established neighborhood with mature trees and landscaping
that grace the entrance-way to each townhome. And yet, this community is virtually brand new, a 2004 sell-out! As you drive by, you
will notice a clean, well-kept appearance that is inviting on a street that has no thru-traffic. At the end of the road one can enjoy the
serene view off The Wappoo Landing community dock that sits right on The Intracoastal Waterway for the enjoyment of residents and their guests,
year ‘round. The boardwalk winds its way over the marsh and out to the water for crabbing, fishing, sipping a late afternoon cocktail and
watching the sun set or hopping on your boat at the day-dock provided for residents and guests. From this floating dock a mariner can scoot
out to the ocean in a matters of 20 minutes or less or take a leisurely cruise into The Charleston Harbor, which is just a couple of minutes
away!
A cruise into the harbor gives the passengers a delightful view of The Battery with its lovely antebellum homes that grace the waterfront in
all the colors of the rainbow. In fact one of the most famous areas of historic Charleston on East Bay Street is called “Rainbow Row”, named for
the spectrum of pastel pigments that the row of residences wear so proudly.
The cruise by The Battery will also take you passed White Point Garden with its many monuments, honoring the brave forefathers of The State of
South Carolina from The Revolutionary War, The War Between The States, World War I, World War II and other poignant moments in our
history. The name of the garden suggests the way in which the oyster shells used to collect at that point on the peninsula, creating a
“white point”, during the time when Charleston was a fledgling community of immigrants from afar.
So, your trip to Wappoo Landing on James Island in Charleston, South Carolina can take you in many, delightful directions. And, living
at Wappoo Landing brings all of the conveniences of living in town, but with a relaxing enjoyment of tidal creek, marsh and waterway
