There are some great places to go
shopping.
Charleston offers some diverse shopping areas, from major
shopping malls to quaint little areas to Historic King Street on
the Peninsula. Here’s a glimpse at some of the shopping
choices:
- Major regional shopping malls.
There are two major enclosed malls: Citadel Mall and Northwoods Mall. Here, you’ll find the typical
stores and major department stores for everyday shopping.
- Mt. Pleasant Town Centre. This open-air
lifestyle center is located in Mt. Pleasant near I-526.
Although similar to the other major malls, the center offers a
different shopping experience in an open-air setting.
- Tanger Outlet Center. Outlet shopping arrived
in the Charleston area in 2006 with this 90-store center in North
Charleston near the airport.
- King Street. The atmosphere and store selection are
hard to beat in this shopping area located along one of
Charleston’s most historic city streets.
- Freshfields Village. This open-air center
sits at the crossroads of the Kiawah and Seabrook resorts, and
features an interesting layout and design that ‘s just
right for a leisurely stroll.
