If you don't live here in the area, having a Charleston, SC Real Estate
Agent, representing you as your Buyer's Agent, can be the best decision you could
make. You will want someone who is familiar with the area, who thoroughly understands the many real
estate transaction processes and someone who can help you find the home that addresses your specific
needs. Some people are retiring here, some are relocating through their work and still others simply
want to move here, because of the myriad of things to do from recreation to dining, historic interests to the
arts. Whatever the case, I can help you find a home that fits your lifestyle and will meet your future needs
as well.
As a Buyer's Agent, it is my responsibility to help you find the right home by, first,
getting to know you and your goals in the search for a home or land, if you are planning to build. From that
point I will begin the process of creating a search on MLS that is custom-taylored to your specific
parameters. Additionally, I will expand my search efforts on a more personal level through my many real estate
contacts in The Greater Charleston Area. At the point that we have thoroughly examined properties that are of
interest to you and narrowed down the choices to your satisfaction I will represent you diligently during the
offer/counteroffer stage of the transaction. Remember, as a Buyer's Agent, I
work for you and only you. But, you, as the buyer in the transaction,
don't pay me out of your pocket. I am paid a percentage of the Selling/Listing Agent's commission,
which comes from the Seller's side of the transaction. Many people do not understand this very important
point, particularly if they are first-time buyers.
A good Buyer's Agent...

Works for you - The Buyer - and does not work for The Seller. My job is to find
the house or land that you're looking for; not to sell you a house in my
inventory.

Acts as your representative and helps to discover flaws in the homes you are
previewing. I look for the things you might not see. Some beautiful homes can have damage or
concerns that need to be addressed prior to closing.

Answers your questions and helps with the offer and counteroffer phase. When
making an offer and negotiating the price of the home, I am there to try to get you the best
possible price and terms. Many people are not skilled in negotiation or get too emotional to get
the right price. It is my job to help you with that.
